Spirit Day

Hey everyone out there in cyber land. Creative Karma is back.

Now, most people know that today is different than most days. Today is Spirit Day. Just to recap, Spirit Day is a day now brought to the forefront because a young boy who was constantly bullied because of his sexual preference killed himself.

It's sad that it always takes people something like this to finally get the point across.

It's not okay to bully anyone at anytime. If you are being bullied at school, go for help. Find someone to tell or talk to. It's NOT okay. No one should ever be bullied for their gender, race, sexual orientation or any other numerous reasons. Spirit Day is a reminder to speak out about bullying and to always be yourself no matter what anyone else things.

Yeah, I was teased because I was short, overweight, wore glasses, and hung out with the geeks, book worms, and computer nerds. I was only lucky because I had friends that kept my self-esteem from being affected. Others aren't as lucky or blessed as I was.

In remembrance of this day and for all those still being bullied I drew a picture for Spirit Day. Just remember, a spirit is a beautiful thing if you keep your heart open for others to enter into it. Keep your heart open and your spirit will always glow.

I named this drawing 'Where the Spirit Leads Me'

The Gamer in Me

Hello everyone, this is Creative Karma again. I'm back with a new drawing to add to my growing list.

Now, I'm sure I'm not alone in knowing what The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is. It's simply one of those classic games that has grown to legend for the Nintendo 64 console. It's a game I grew up playing and still love to this day.

It took me long enough, but I came across an old drawing I did of Child Link with his fairy Navi. Drawings of him as an adult are in my stash somewhere I just have to find them.

Well, here he is.

Save for the reincarnation of adult Link by the Nostalgia Critic this is one of the most memorable images I have of a piece of my life. (Aside: For those of you who have no idea who the Nostalgia Critic and his That Guy With the Glasses team you must look them up and soon!)

*Ahem* In any case, I hope you enjoy this little piece of gamer love as much as I do.

See you guys on the flip side.

Anime Free For All Round 2

Here comes round 2 of the anime free for all.

I saw the odd lack of drawings on my computer as a sign that I hadn't uploaded all the pictures to my computer. So I went on a search into my physical art portfolio and what did I find? A plethora of drawings that had been hanging around waiting for me to up load them.

It took me about 45 minutes to do all of them but I think I've finally gotten myself caught up.

So, for your viewing pleasure, here is the next round of anime drawings.

Well that's all for now. This is Creative Karma. I'm sketching out a trail one line at a time.

Anime Free For All

I'm back once again.

Real life has taken it's toll so it took me quite a while to get enough time to come and post more drawings. Then, of course, came the inevitable moment of: which drawings or pictures do I show?

The moment that makes me sit back and really think about what pictures and drawings do I have that I want to feature and how.

After a little thought I decided to do a post dedicated to all the anime characters I've drawn over the years. Well...not ALL of them per say but the ones I can find in an reasonable amount of time. Knowing me I'll find more and have to do a part 2 somewhere down the line.

So here they come. Let's see if you know who they are. Good luck.

Hope all you anime fans out there enjoyed this little spree. More to come in the future of course.

Triple Play

Hey guys Creative Karma is back for another round.

This time I have three photos to show you guys. One is just the most random thing that's happened to me yet while the other two are my drawings.

First, time for a little back story on the first picture.

I was typing up an "I love..." list that a friend inspired me to do after we both did an "I hate..." list (this can be found on my Deviant Art account Obsidian Bullet's DA ). Any way, I was typing up the sentence: "I love being an English major." And this is what happened:

Now, correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure that the an is SUPPOSED to be there to be a complete sentence. However, Microsoft Word wanted to constantly take "an" out of the sentence. If I'm right then this is the most epic Microsoft Word Fail I've ever seen. If I'm wrong...I don't wanna know it.

Moving on the the reason for this blog's existence.

I have two drawings to post today. The reason for their being two that it is a sort of hide and reveal moment. The girl in the drawing is a character I created for a role play. Her name is Evelyn Chambers. She is a character that carried a secret that no one knew till late in the role play because she saw it as a deformity. The first drawing is of her as she is from day to day while the second is her finally revealing her scars. it was my first time ever actually drawing scars.

Well, that's all from this artist. See ya next time.

Twi-graphy Anyone?

This is a drawing of Boo Boo Stewart. Yes, that's his real name.

Most of the people in the world didn't know this kid existed until his role as Seth Clearwater in Twilight.

A dear friend of mine was a fan of his rather than Jacob or Edward like everyone else. So, I surprised her by drawing this picture for her and mailing it to her, after making a copy of it of course. I became a fan of his after I completed this drawing. She was happy though and that's all that mattered to me.

Like all my drawings, this one was done in the same manner with graphite pencils and Q-Tips.

Welcome to My Portfolio

Just call me Creative Karma.

I'm an artist that's been working behind the scenes for years just doing drawings for myself. I even used to have a blog featuring my art work and stories but nothing ever came of it. But now, I've decided to give things one more shot.

Each week I will post a drawing, a series of drawings, a pictures I found online or even some of my writing that I do on the side. Like my namesake says, my art follows the constant shifting of moods and lifestyles that I go through from day to day. So who knows what may show up here first.

For my first post of this newly opened blog, I'm going to feature one the drawings I put a lot of love into. A portrait of Jackson Rathbone.

Jackson Rathbone is one of my all time favorite actors and I decided one day to do a drawing of one of his various looks. All of my work in this photo was done by looking at a photo of Jackson on the internet and using gradient pencils and Q-Tips (yes I said Q-Tips).

And I know you see the "by Nikki" in the corner. That's the real life artist name I gave myself.

No, I didn't see him in person or take the photo myself but it is a dream of mine to meet him one day.
